History
The first written evidence of Liesek is from 1558. Number of inhabitants: 2500
Elevation: 650 m a.s.l. Village of Liesek had a subjective relationship with the castle owners until 1848. Coal mining by Belgium company during the 19-th and 20-th century was eventually stopped. There is river Jelešňa running in the north of the village and it creates a natural border between Slovakia and Poland. In 1984 this locality was established a national natural reservation (occurence of a river otter).

Baroque Roman Catholic Church of Archangel Michael belongs to cultural sights of the village. It was built in 1818 and regulated in in beginning of 20th century.
