History
The first written evidence of Zuberec is from 1593. Number of inhabitants:1817 Altitude: 760 m a.s.l. Zuberec was firstly mentioned under the name Zwberczyc as a vassal village of Orava castle, together with other villages based on the Walachian authority. The Roman Catholic Church of St. Valentine in Zuberec was built in 1933 and it belongs to a cultural sights of the village.Religious life of inhabitants of Zuberec is represented by 14 crosses. The village is an important tourist center of Orava's part of West Tatras.
Sights
The Tatliak´s monument is situated in Rohače-part of the West Tatras.Tatliak was one of the first climbers in Roháče.
Partisan´s cemetery is located at the beginning of the Latana valley.
The outdoor museum of Orava village at Brestova is one of the most attractive museums of the folk architecture in Europe.
